HelpMaster v25

HelpMaster v25 is now available for 2025 and has some fantastic new features in the web portal, the workflow engine - particularly for parent-child jobs, and general improvements across the entire product suite.

Here’s the highlights.

Parent - Child jobs

The user interface and workflow for parent/child jobs has been improved for the web.

New side-bar information panels will now automatically display contextual information about jobs that are linked in a parent/child relationship.

Child jobs can be bulk-updated, and new options are available for closing the parent job and having this also be applied to any child jobs.

Workflow email

The workflow email object now contains several new options to dynamically address email for different workflow situations. This improvement will allow for better email communication when working the parent/child jobs.

The new email tags are also available in the email section of the action screen.

Action History menu

The Action History menu will display the last 20 actions that were performed by you. This makes it easy to navigate to previous, recent jobs that you worked on.

Web Attachment Preview

The Web Portal will now preview email, .docx and .pdf files and others in a much better way. Hyperlinks are preserved and the UI has been improved for better icons, navigation, animated timers etc.

Web Portal License management

Logins/Logoffs to the web portal are now managed in a new way to improve stability, concurrency, and allow remote logoff.

WebAPI

The webAPI has had small UI improvements, and the GetJobList endpoint has new searching options for Job Summary and Job Details, and now supports Full Text Searching.

Change Management

A small UI update now allows the Change Management screen to display any Control Sets on the front tab (Details tab) of the Change Request screen.

Better documentation

• New top-level options for “Documentation”, “Install and Upgrade”, “Configuration Guides”
• More updated pages, better screen-shots, more cross-linking and “See also”. This documentation is a constant work-in-progress - let us know your feedback!

Miscellaneous fixes, tweaks and improvements

• As always, we fixed some bugs, tweaked some code and made general improvements across the entire HelpMaster infrastructure. We are always planning for, and working on an improved code-base across the entire product, as well as keeping up-to-date with the latest tools and technologies from Microsoft and other technology partners.
