The Web Portal is hosted via IIS on a web server machine
Installation steps
Installation Warning
Ensure that Step 1 below is performed in the order as numbered below. Installing the ASP.NET Core Hosting Bundle before using Server Manager to deploy the Web Server role and features will result in a Server Error 500.19 because some of the files and components of the hosting bundle will be replaced when deploying the web server role. If deployed in reverse, re-install the ASP.NET Core Hosting Bundle in Repair mode to restore the over-written files.Step 1 : Install IIS and other web components on your Web Server
- Install the .NET 4.8 Framework components
- Install Internet Information Services (IIS)
- Install the ASP.NET Core v8.0.11 Hosting Bundle (Microsoft Direct Download Link)
Step 2 : Install and then Deploy the HelpMaster Web Portal to IIS
- Install the HelpMaster Web Portal application and setup wizard onto your webserver
- Creating a new HelpMaster Web Portal application (in IIS) using the Web Setup wizard
Step 3 : Configure the HelpMaster Web Portal for business use
- The HelpMaster Web Settings screen allows you to customize the web portal to your specific requirements and can be accessed from the HelpMaster Desktop application.
- Build a Request Catalog to give clients and staff a quick and easy way to log jobs and tickets, and service requests.
- Create Knowledge Base articles for the web
