High Availability / Failover clustering
High Availability / Failover clustering
HelpMaster supports SQL Server High availability configurations.
Once you have configured your SQL Server for high availability, you will need to connect HelpMaster to your High Availability Listener as part of the database connection string. This should be done for new and existing database connections. This is achieved by using the regular HelpMaster logon / database connection screen.
IMPORTANT! If moving from a non-clustered database to a new high availability group, OR the name of your high availability group has changed, you will need to re-apply your HelpMaster license/registration code.

SQL Server Permissions / HelpMaster Registration Licensing alert
If using SQL Server High Availability / failover clustering, please ensure that all SQL Server Accounts / Windows Users that will be connecting to the HelpMaster Database have the “VIEW SERVER STATE” and “VIEW ANY DEFINITION” permission to the MASTER database of your SQL Server Instance hosting the HelpMaster database. This will ensure that the registration process will be effective should a database failover event occur.
